Outcomes

At the conclusion of the program, participants should be able to:

  • Understand the state of college student gambling, and its relationship with comorbidities of SUD
  • Decipher whether legality of sports wagering and igaming had an impact on college student gambling behavior and risk
  • Analyze how campuses may be able to best serve students on gambling-related issues
  • Identify the role of storytelling in recovery
  • Share information about accessing podcasts and potential impact
  • Utilize podcasts as a recovery tool
  • Recognize unique experiences of women with gambling harm
  • Identify stigma and barriers to seeking help
  • Discuss connections between gambling and gaming and issues related to both
  • Identify potential risks associated with youth gambling
  • Have open dialogue regarding youth gaming and gambling

Continuing Education

Social Work

This program is offered for 6.0 hours of social work continuing education through co-sponsorship of the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Social Work, a Council on Social Work Education-accredited school and, therefore, a PA pre-approved provider of social continuing education. These credit hours satisfy requirements for LSW/LCSW, LPC and LMFT biennial license renewal. For information on social work continuing education, visit socialwork.pitt.edu/continuing-ed.
