Lackawanna County Problem Gambling Webinar:
Gambling Myths & Informed Decision Making
This program will explore and debunk common myths surrounding gambling. Participants will learn to identify and critically evaluate illusions often associated with gambling activities, such as the “gambler’s fallacy,” the “hot hand,” and the belief in “luck.”
The goal of the webinar will be to provide individuals with a better understanding of the knowledge and critical thinking skills necessary to identify the importance of making informed decisions about gambling and to better understand the true nature of risk and probability.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this workshop, participants will:
- Become familiar with gambling and gambling disorder
- Identify and understand common gambling myths
- Analyze the impact of these myths on gambling behaviors
- Identify ways to make informed decisions about gambling participation
- Have awareness of available local resources

This live program has been approved by the International Problem Gambling and Gaming Certification Organization (IPGGC) – attendees who complete the live webinar will be eligible to receive 1.0 hours of credit
