Problem Gambling : An Introduction for Professionals

Today, more people have access to, and are participating in, gambling activities than ever before. While the majority of the population is able to gamble without developing any issues, there is a small percentage of individuals who are unable to maintain manageable levels of play. Unfortunately for these individuals, this often progresses to a point where several areas of their lives are impacted in a negative way.

During this program, participants will learn about problem gambling, how it develops, potential warning signs, and the overlap that often occurs between gambling, mental health and substance use disorders. Additionally, the program will explore screening approaches and methods that can be integrated into existing practice to offer professionals a way to identify potential issues and better serve clients who may be experiencing gambling related problems.

Presenter:

  • Josh Ercole, Executive Director – CCGP
