Wind Creek Bethlehem is sponsoring a workshop presented by The Council on Compulsive Gambling of Pennsylvania, Inc.
The landscape of gambling in Pennsylvania is constantly evolving, requiring a continuous examination of current trends, emerging technologies, and consideration of what the future may hold for individuals, families and communities. Also increasingly important, is maintaining a focus on public policy related to gambling and the existing regulatory framework. This workshop will aim to provide attendees with a greater understanding of how digital gambling, prediction markets, sports betting, online casinos, and games with gambling-like features (such as loot boxes and microtransactions) are reshaping risk, access, and the potential for the development of problems. The session will also emphasize advocacy, providing participants with knowledge and tools needed to prepare and respond effectively. Attendees will learn how to identify potential emerging harms, engage in informed conversations with stakeholders, and advocate for prevention, consumer protection, and enhanced regulation at local and organizational levels.
